Decorative Picture Frame

CLip Picture Frame
Frames for your favourite photos are not particularly cheap, unless you purchase clip frames, which are available in most places. A No. 10 paintbrush, some Rekar glue, a sheet of wood 20.5cm x 21.5cm (hardboard would be fine), acrylic silk paint in colour of your choice, a sheet of acetate and plenty of natural wooden household pegs, plus, of course, your photo or picture.
Make sure that your picture is a suitable size to fit the frame. Take your piece of wood and then centralise your photo or picture on to this. Then, with your brush, glue the photo to the wood.
The next step now is to take your pegs. Try grouping the pegs in the following way. Commence by going down the left side of the wood. Place the pegs going in a downward direction starting from the top. Using the longest and thinnest part of the peg on its back, to the top edge. It is likely that you may use 3 to 4 pegs to do 1 row down 1 side.
The middle row will need to start with the bottom part of the peg on its back, thus changing the pattern. It may be that you need four rows. The pegs have to cover the edge of your picture. The sides should be identical. Once dry, start at the foot of your picture using your pegs going across ways. First row from the bottom with the bottom part of the peg on its back nearest to the outside left frame. All the pegs in this row going the same way. The second row forms the pattern with the longest part first. All need glueing.
Repeat this at the top now. Any dried flowers can then be stuck to your frame.
This would look better if you painted the sides of your frame.
A clip, two or more of which can be employed to retain a canvas stretcher frame within a decorative picture frame. Canvases are typically fixed to a frame formed of a plurality of stretcher bars having rectangular cross-sectional shapes, such frame being adapted for placement into a rabbet groove at the rear of the decorative frame. The main body extends across the rear surface of the stretcher bar and has a second leg which resiliently engages the inner edge of the stretcher bar as to retain the clip in place, which in turn retains the stretcher frame within the decorative frame.
